I am so dead. First, I am almost finished with The Bag. Finished all but some detail work at about 3 a.m. (No in focus photos until it’s DONE done.)But then, the Darling Husband, I was going to give him an undercover fake name but he said I could use his Actual Name which is Rick, so anyway, Rick offered to go to our storage unit with me and look it over, which is a job I have been promising to do for, well, for a long time, and haven’t quiiiiiiiiiiite gotten to yet. It had been so long since we have been there that we didn’t remember the code to get into the gate, or even the number on our unit. So, after checking in at the office, we arrived at the spot, just in time for the rain to start, natch. I did remember to take the key, a minor miracle, so I unlocked the lock, Rick rolled up the door, and OMG I had forgotten all the stuff I had in there! I had sort of told myself it was a bunch of stuff that we just needed to give away or sell or something, but then I found this all THIS stuff:
Well. There is actually quite a bit more, but I am sufficiently embarrassed at the moment to have forgotten THIS much good stuff. The loose fabric (sorry for the blur, I got over-excited) and the patterns were in a box that Rick brought from Brooklyn a few years ago, from his late and very fashionable Aunt Helen. There are Vogue patterns which seem to go all the way back to the 40’s, but mostly from the ’70s, with famous designers’ names on them. Nearly every one would look fashionable sewn up today. The big rolls of fabric, well, that is fabulous upholstery fabric left over from my sewing-up-yoga-bags for Ebay days. I have about a gazillion totes and purses right there. Sheesh.
The only thing is, why must my obssessions always collide in this unruly fashion? I had a fistful of ideas of things I wanted to make just as soon as I finished that red bag up there, and now I have yet another head full of ideas that are driving me insane. But in a Good Way. Sort of.

Dammit~~I left a nice long comment earlier and it disappeared! So I had to go ‘cool off’ for a while but now I’m back.
We too pay for a storage bldg full of stuff that we don’t even remember (let alone, apparently; NEED). I’ve kept taking stuff over there “for the craft studio” but now that I’m getting down to really planning it I’m not sure I’m gonna WANT all that wet old stuff back!
So your yoga bags sound like they did better than my dog leashes

Hey, lady! Jen Duncan mentioned both of us on her blog today, so I had to come check you out. Your bags are not tote bags or sacs or sacks–they’re real live handbags! Yummy!
