Oh, yes it was.
For starters, Extremely Influential Blogstars came to my house: Pam from PamKittyMorning and Elizabeth from The Late Bloomer. They didn’t come to your house, did they?
I thought not.
We had lunch, and then they let me march them around several towns, introducing them as my Very Famous Quilting Friends. Because, you know, they write books, and they star in magazines and other people’s books, and they do stunt sewing for Alex Anderson, the Goddess of Quiltland, and stuff like that.
Well, actually, they only let me march them to one place, because Pam said, “We’re not making a career out of this.” And Elizabeth said we’d better not make Pam mad, because the last person that did that ended up in her trunk, and so then they took me back home. (Not in the trunk, because I didn’t make Pam mad. She likes me.)
Then it was Saturday, and time for the big antique sale/picnic/party at the Susan Branch Farmstand! There were cupcakes made by darling Amy, and lemonade made by very adorable Maddie, and Susan Branch Herself, and tents and trailers and wondrous things. I came home with a brand-new very old wooden ironing board.

looks like your weekend came straight out of the pages of Country Living Magazine……. !!!!
yes I’m totally eaten up with jealousy.
I have a similar old wooden ironing board….
(heck no I dont iron..that’s why God created dry cleaners)
I use mine as a nice thin little *table* in my teenie tiny laundry room.
My jealousy prohibits me from commenting. But my ego forces me to comment so you people know I was here. Damn.

Hey, you big gloating gloater, I got to pick up poop and walk dogs who pulled my arms out of their sockets and then clean up a sock that had been ingested by one of the dogs at the kennel. And then I got to cart kids to and fro (wherever “fro” is) and then I got to go to a hospice house. So beat that.
Your weekend sounds wonderful. And there’s no one I’d rather have experienced it. Except me.

I’d leave a comment, but I’m officially not speaking to you. (jk)
My weekend had some really crappy moments and now they seem crappier.
wish I had been there, or anywhere other than here.
Love those old bikes!

There just wasn’t enough time for parading around was there? And you’ve forgotten that everyone looked blank faced when you introduced us. But still it was a great time. You have some wonderful photos. I have crap for photos. And not one dog photo. I don’t get it.

Your pictures are wonderful Kathi. Like a previous poster said; just like a Country Living weekend! I’m glad you had fun with the girls

We both felt really badly that no one was impressed at all by your “famous friends”. But we did warn you that would happen.
I cannot believe I didn’t take a single pic of your dogs! Luckily, their images are well represented elsewhere. I got such a sweet kiss from one of them…the small one that isn’t Bonnie. I know I should look for the name but I’m still exhausted from keeping the rain away.
oh you just know all the important people. I am so jealous. we just took a day trip up to lake roosevelt and saw the new bridge and dam. most of the places I used to camp are 30 feet underwater now. it was a nice overcast day, about 70 degrees, but mostly deserted because everybody was at some farmstand in california.
I like rick’s new orange sweatshirt.
Well… I did have lunch with Stephen Colbert in Vancouver this weekend. But clearly he’s not as famous as KathiD, PamKittyMorning & Late Bloomer… NOT ONE PERSON blogged about my get together with him.

Weird. My comment didn’t post. Should I retype it? Maybe I’ll wait and see if it appears later, first.

I think your adventure sounds dreamy. I am VERY impressed with the company you keep. You know all of the big stars. I am convinced that, on your next outing, you need paparazzi to make you look legit. I have a new camera and would love to follow you around. I would also love to eat 50 of those cupcakes, and put money in the Lemonade girls Haiti jar!
Sigh…..someday…

I am not the least bit hungry having just eaten some contemptible protein bar but now I want one of those precious cupcakes, and I want to buy it from that cute cupcake lady. I also want to buy that red truck and follow it back to Structo Farms and paint a D in front of their name.
Not drinking, I swear.

Ok, since my comment #3 made it, I’ll retype comment #1. Comment #2 can suck it.
#1, as my memory remembers:
Well… you guys are all so special. Seriously. I had lunch with Stephen Colbert in Vancouver on Saturday… and NOT ONE person blogged about it.

It’s 11 o’clock PM and all I want is one (or ten) of those cupcakes and the dog hiding under the ironing board!!
And, Boohoo to you Bob!! Get a life (and your own orange sweatshirt)!

Considering that I didn’t take off my dog flannel pajamas all weekend you certainly win this round. You lucky duck! You people in California have all the fun.

You definitely had a better weekend than I did! What a fun time. Great photos. Love the cupcake trailer (and the cupcakes!) – and what a kick to see the Snow White and Seven Dwarfs I had on a birthday cake once.
Nice score with the ironing board. I have two old wooden ones and am crazy about them (and I definitely don’t iron). This is my first visit to your site – the chicken/dog/people pen photo is too much. Thanks for the laugh.

Jealous, jealous, jealous…you got to play Lady of the manor with famous people, Sparkle Pants got to go on a foreign tour…me…I got to do laundry and sort out mismatched socks. My day is coming, just you wait and see!
I’d have commented sooner, but I got distracted by the cupcake website.
When you decide to march incompetent quilting friends around town, please let me know. You can just drop me off at the bakery with a gallon of skim.
it’s all so totally pretty that i’m quite breathless.
