How did that happen? And, wait, it’s December?
Here’s how our Thanksgiving weekend went. Cousin Poppy (Not Her Real Name) the vegan visited, along with her new best friend Charlie (His Real Name), not a vegan. Charlie needed a new home this year and Poppy (Not Her Real Name) needed a new friend, and they both hit the jackpot when they found each other. They are super houseguests, nothwithstanding my proclivity to cook with nothing but butter and cream. And bacon. Poppy (NHRN) is supremely gracious and adaptable. Two things I am not.
The lovely Charlie.
Lookit those perfect ears!
They each wanted the other guy's food.
Cousin Poppy and the gang.
Then Buster and (the other) Brooklyn came over.
After Bonnie escaped, The Brooklyns go nose-to-nose.
Buster has a new hero.

* Charlie is adorable…and large.
*Bonnie looks fab in her outfit. She has such a fashion sense!
*Buster makes me want to have a puppy! I mean GET a puppy!
*I like writing with these little star thingies.
Great pics!
They are all so cute in their fur coats. Looks like you all had a good Thanksgiving.
Oh my God how did you survive so much puppy cuteness? I would have burst into a big pile of dust at the sight of all these delicious puppers. They are too much! If one of them needs or wants a new home please put them on a plane to Kansas!
WOW. You should be embarrassed at all that loverly doddieness there !
I think I need to spruce my two gooses up before Tim Gunn gets a hold of them (they’re gay enough). All those clean and fine angels are making my two look like homeless crack heads.
Oh look at all those pretty dogs!
You are a brave, brave person.
OH EM GEE on all that doggie cuteness!
btw, I couldn’t even come close to talking my mom into cooking the turkey on high for an hour and a half. Nope, she was up at 4:30 am shoving that thing in the oven for the whole day. I’m curious if any one else tried it. -)
These are the kinds of guests I love! But is it my imagination or is Buster more than a little bit excited in that last picture?
But don’t mind me, I’m tired and I’ve been using bourbon all night long to fight cramps.
great photos! what sweet pack you have there!
They’re all super cute and all, but I’m with Laura about the wondering about Buster in the last picture. I’m distracted.
Abby, thank you so much! I was beginning to feel like a total pervert; now I have some company!!
That last photo is adorable. My daughter made me print it out and she put it on her wall. SHe’s dog crazy! (Will make sure to write your photo credit at the bottom)
Suz
Uh, that is an, um, LEAF there on the porch. Yeah, a leaf! That’s the ticket!
Buster is actually a little stud dog, a toy-sized Australian Shepherd (6 lbs.!) who is going to father more little litters like himself. He was trying to have his way with my sweet, tender, and innocent Brooklyn, so I guess he was still a little, er, happy. Or maybe he likes Charlie better? Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
LOL! Photoshop, Sister!
Trying to picture the horrifying moment when Suz’s daughter noticed the “leaf” in all its glory on her wall. Yay PhotoShop!
@jen duncan, I did the turkey Kathi’s way, and it wasthe BEST turkey I’ve ever eaten asfarasmyshortandfaultymemorygoes! My new favorite cooking advice.
CUTE DOGGIES ALL
