Keeping the pups “quiet” post-surgery has been a bit challenging. Sometimes it works.

Other times, not so much.

I heard an odd noise from the kitchen, which turned out to be the top of the butter dish being nosed off. I am not quite sure how he got there. The chairs were pushed in.
If only he would use his powers for good.

That is the best picture ever! I bet he was reading the book next to him on the table, and the only thing he could find was the butter. haha. Happens to the best of us sometimes, only in my case it’s usually a can of Duncan Hines Chocolate Frosting. Mmmmmm.

I’m impressed that you grabbed for your camera before you pushed your doggie off the table
Glad to see they’re doing well. I had no idea dogs had an affinity for butter.
I keep my butter in a ramekin because we like to leave it out so it stays soft. I like your bowl because it has a lid. I can never find a good butter container.
Is that your recipe file? I love using a binder for recipes because mine all come from the internet, a magazine or my computer. Page protectors keep everything clean. I started one for my niece when she bought her first house. Wonder if she uses it…

Oh yes the mystery of how the dog gets on the table. That mystery will never be solved in our house. I still can’t figure out how Lucy gets up there and she’s so much smaller than him. If you break the mystery let me know. He sure looks happy up there.

Yes, I’ve been known to serve butter with cat tongue patterns decorating it – very arty.
Love your oilcloth, btw!

That cracks me up. My little guy broke his collar bone a couple of days before Christmas. He’s three. By Boxing day he was jumping from the top of the couch, holding his sore side into his body. Crazy. I wished I had a hammock.
for those who do not know, the “book” is a few hundred recipes kathi collected from family and inlaws and put into printed form and sent to people who contributed recipes, then had to update. (hint; this is one of the things she later got tired of and dropped)
ahhh… I hope they start to feel better soon! I remember when my dog was ‘done’. He was much calmer afterwards but alas he’d already had his first ‘experience’, and fell in love with the dog next door. My friend has a daughter who does that with butter!! x

Love it! Growing up with 9 cats, yes you heard correct…9 cats…if the butter was out for more than 2 seconds someone would find it and have a field day.

What a stinker! I remember the time my in-law’s lab managed eat an entire chocolate cake that had been sitting in the middle of the kitchen table. He then had a massive diarhea attack the whole length of the house! My vet tech daughter tells me that while we all know that chocolate isn’t good for a dog, you need to worry more about pure chocolate (like baking chocolate) than the regular stuff. I can’t imagine what butter might do!!

That reminds me of my brother. When he was younger, my mom would find him in the fridge taking a bite out of the square of butter.
I think that make cause greasy farts or something so beware:)

When I was little, we were always finding my 3 yr. old sister’s finger prints in the butter when it got left too close to the edge of the counter. Then one day my mother found her hiding in the closet with an entire stick of butter. She had peeled the wrapper down like a banana peel and was happily sitting there eating her “snack”!….as much as I love butter, it makes me gag to think about that! (and actually, it was probably margarine, knowing my mother, which makes it even worse!)
