Happy Halloween and an apology

by Kathi D on October 31, 2008

First, I apologize to the entire dog world for what I have done to three of your number. There is no excuse for it, and I hope that you won’t send a rabid pit bull (with or without lipstick) to kill me in my sleep.

Second, to my friends, family, and anyone who ever cared about me, even in some inconsequential way: I am sorry that you have to know me now, in this stage of my life, when I (almost) unashamedly put clothing on dogs. It’s too bad you either didn’t know me or can’t remember me back when I (sensibly) mocked people for dressing up their dogs.

Of course, I mainly do it for the enjoyment of the dogs, as seen on Bonnie’s and especially Barkley’s face. Brooklyn is pretty much happy no matter what, but nothing says “happy” for most dogs more than dressing up in a silly outfit.

Anyway, I am so sorry. Kind of.

I LOVE them! That put a big smile on my face this morning as I take my unadventurous butt to work in my pajamas (MY costume for the day). I am not concerned about you Kathi until you decide to take them from house to house trick or treating:)

Them dogs are darn cute in costume and they seem to enjoy it!

Oh Bonnie looks beautiful and she seems to like the costume. She almost seems proud of herself. Barkley not so much. He looks just like Lucy when I put a costume on her. And little Broklyn has become quite the diva.

How do the chickens like Barkley’s costume? Do they think he is one of their own?

I remember what you used to think of people who would dress up their dogs. (I think you said something about “just shoot me if I ever slip over the edge that far” or something like that, but you were so young)
just remember, they are dogs and they think like dogs. fashion is down the list from food, sex, and ……..well, food and sex is it for dogs.

Awww! SO CUTE! I love their costumes! I think my favorite though is Barkely, and the look on his face! So cute! This is just the post I needed to read this morning, to get me in a happy feel-good mood!

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite here, but I’m going to have to go with the chicken. Chickens are all kinds of funny. These costumes are very cute.

I see proof that females like to dress up…..males? not so much.

Don’t apologize! That is adorable. Snow White is the best…she actually knows how cute she looks. I bet she’s your biggest trouble maker…the cute one’s always are!

LOL! I love the Snow White costume! I wish my dog Tinkerbell would put up with something like this for a costume of her namesake. I tried putting a crown on her but she shook it off.

Hello Ladies, This is a little off subject — but I am new to posting to blogs, and since the subject was dogs and cuteness, well, I thought this the spot to jump in.

I little bird — or maybe it was a little dog, hehe, told me that a few of Kathi’s friends could use a little more BIG RED in their lives from time to time.
Well, I have a really cute photo — that Kathi’s husband took of Big Red and Brooklyn, I don’t know if I will be able to paste it in here, but I am going to try. Big Red is Kathi’s landscaper… as I am sure you know, you can check out Big Red and our website — (that has more pics of him). At our website, there are links to my Flickr account -( even more Big Red!) along with our awesome kids!
As you will see if you check out our site, and my Flickr link, Big Red and I have much to thankful for, as the season of Thanks approaches.

….. well darn, I could not paste the pics in -

Kathi, Can you post them? John loves being a guest star in your blog from time to time….. I said he has some very stiff competition, with the new puppies and all, but he thinks since he has the pups in the photos with him, he has a running chance you might post them ! hehehehe
(if he had any idea I said all this here, haha, my goose is cooked!)
I better go before I get into some real trouble around here!

I will let everyone look forward to seeing that cool photo in a few days (building suspense here)!

You have truly reached an alltime cuteness low. You know Bonnie is not so secretly planning your demise. First the chickens, then the puppies, now this? You should fear the Bonnie
