Whew!
My unbelievably kind neighbor Bjorn (Not His Real Name) came over today and helped with the final chores on the chicken coop. The worst one was putting fencing on the back side which involved us crawling under the hen house and dealing with the miserable scratch up your body hardware cloth one last time. I have to say, not many neighbors or friends would willingly crawl under a hen house for you.
We did have to call paramedics to extricate us. I am still in the sitting position. I am hoping to be able to straighten my back by sometime next week. Bjorn is coiled sideways with one arm stuck out straight. I’m not sure who is better off. I can watch TV, but can’t lie down in bed. Bjorn can be balanced on his one arm if you hang a few fishing weights from his left ear, which is amusing, but not useful in any practical way.
Would it be wrong to save these photos to make the chickens feel guilty that I bled for their comfort?

That is one handsome Chicken Coop! I don’t keep my keep my kids in that nice of a place!
What an amazing coop! What an amazing friend! I do not have neighbors like that, for sure. Your chickens will be living it up in style.
WOW! Nice Coop! It sures looks worth the injuries you both sustained:)
When I pictured chicken coop I saw box, maybe with roof … not a deluxe mansion! I love it. I can see how that’d take some blood, sweat, and tears.
Those damn chickens better appreciate all the effort that went into that coop. They are after all going to be living the high life. If they start giving you lip remind them that they would like mighty pretty fried up and sitting on a platter
Do I see a TV in the background of that coop? I have had apartments that weren’t that big or that nice. The chickens should kiss your feet, oh wait, they have no lips.
those chickens are certainly living a high & mighty. i can’t believe that you built that coop! i too envisioned something small & cramp. that is luxury living!
This looks more like a chicken conservatory than a chicken coop. This is nicer than my house.
(I am in somewhat of a pout though, because I went away from your post for a couple of days and when I came back, all the gorgeous & kooky sneaks had gone from your banner! Hmmmm – change and progress -hmmmmm).
Judy, it’s not “progress,” it’s that I don’t yet know how to put my own images up there at the top on this platform! Learning is taking place, slowly.
To the rest of y’all, yes, it IS a palace, which is mostly due to the efforts of my wonderful neighbor. I did the painting and some other finishing-up chores, but the structure was Bjorn’s. Now he comes by with friends to mock my chicken palace! (I don’t mind being on the “kook tour.”)
Hi Kathi – glad you used the word “yet” – you gotta get those shoebies back – they are your Kathi D brand! I am sure you will triumph, and when you do, you will hear me cheering in the UK!
